This past Saturday, I hosted my first beginner calligraphy workshop! It was such a wonderful fun afternoon meeting all of my students.
The class was held in the gorgeous dining room in The Southard House B&B, which gave the afternoon a decidedly elegant and relaxing feel. The vast windows in the room let in some beautiful natural light - perfect for an afternoon of learning calligraphy! And to top it all off, we had some delicious coffee provided by da Vinci's Coffeehouse to go with the sweet snacks provided alongside the calligraphy.
It was so refreshing being in a room full of women wanting to learn a new art. It wasn't until that day that I realized truly just how much I love the art of pointed pen calligraphy, and now I know just how fulfilling it is to teach this art to others!
The day was gracefully captured by Angela Williams of Hazel and Haze Photography. She caught some amazing photos of everyone learning and having fun! I think I'll go ahead and let her photography tell the rest of the story from the workshop. You can view a gallery below:
For those of you that might be wanting to learn calligraphy, make sure to keep a watch out for my next workshops! I'm in the middle of planning my next two classes, and I'll be sharing the dates soon. I'm most definitely going to hold another beginner calligraphy workshop as well as something new: a brush lettering class!
